Our Objective
Thaipography Archive is a visual collection platform dedicated to Thai letterforms. This educational resource serves type design students, type designers, graphic designers, and anyone passionate about Thai typography.
While Thai type design represents a specialized niche within the broader design industry, it has evolved significantly alongside technological and cultural developments over recent decades. Many Thai typefaces and lettering works created by local craftsmen remain undocumented or unrecognized, even as others have gained prominence. Our mission is to collect visual examples of Thai letterforms we encounter today—whether we have complete information about their designers and creation dates or not—and foster a community that can contribute additional knowledge over time.
These letterforms represent more than individual characters; they are collections of beautiful words that, when viewed holistically, form intricate design puzzles waiting to be understood. By observing what has been accomplished and the methods behind these achievements, we can advance the field while learning from past approaches and ensuring that no designs or craftsmen are overlooked or forgotten.
